We are looking for a colleague who will take care of the implementation and enhancement of our quality management system, especially for processes related to the research and development projects for our key foreign partners such as the European Space Agency or Airbus Defence & Space.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities
- Communication with customers and partners of the TOPTEC Centre (primarily in English)
- Quality process monitoring and creation of quality management documentation in the areas of manufacturing, administration, and inspection processes
- Preparation of current processes for ISO certification
- Adapt TOPTEC processes and their documentation to comply with ECSS/MIL standards (training available)
- Close cooperation with project managers
Quality Engineer Requirements
- University degree (a technical field is an advantage)
- Experience in quality control management (knowledge of ISO standards)
- Advanced level of knowledge of MS Excel
- Fluent English
- Interest in continuous learning, a keen eye for detail

The junior research group of Computational Spectroscopy at the TOPTEC Center, led by the group leader Karel Žídek, focuses on the implementation of novel computational methods, such as compressed sensing, to revisit the standard methods of laser spectroscopy. The activities include the fields of microscopy, pump-probe spectroscopy or photoluminescence decay measurements. [arXiv (2019) 1901.04717; Opt. Express 27 (2019) 4562; Sci. Rep. 7 (2017) 15309]
We are currently building a unique experimental setup devoted to time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy utilizing randomly modulated femtosecond pulses. We envision this concept as an opportunity to measure extremely rapid processes by using broadband laser sources which cannot be used otherwise – for instance due to their instability, unsatisfactory pulse compression or pulse broadening in a sample.
We are searching for colleagues who will contribute to the development of the experimental setup with the particular emphasis on random pulse shaping, characterization of random pulses via FROG and related methods, signal processing, and software control of the experiment.
You have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field and previous experience in ultrafast laser or laser spectroscopy. Experience with software control of experiments and with compressed sensing or signal processing in general will be considered an asset. Good English communication ability is required.
The position is available for an immediate start and it is initially limited to two years with the possibility of extension. The salary follows the Czech IPP salary scheme for scientists in public research institutions.
